Stranded for 6 days except for 4 wheel drive road out the back. Still, didn't have too bad a time. Good spot at 319. | |

Dateland, AZ | 3/1/05-3/2/05 | Dateland Palms Village Resort | Stop on the road for the night. Today we picked up our New Jeep Grand Cherokee in Ehrenburg, AZ. Such a great improvement over our last Jeep. | |
St. David, AZ | 3/02/05-3/16/05 | St. David RV Resort | Western Horizon Resort. This resort is full this time of year. Nice place for dog. We walked almost every morning 3.5 to 4.5 miles out into the desert. It was cold enough so we didn't worry about snakes at 7 AM. Toured Chiracucga Natl Monument and the Dragoon Mtns. We stopped March 2 and got our alternator replaced on the RV. | |
Van Horn, TX | 3/16/05-3/17/05 | El Campo RV | One night stop on the way to Big Bend Natl Park. Drove all day in good weather on I10. Bought diesel at Flying J for $2.099. Staying at small Passport America RV park along old highway 80 for $9. Used to drive through here in the 50's and 60's on the way to Arkansas. Hasn't changed much. | |
Terlingua, TX | 3/17/05-3/24/05 | Open RV Park near Big Bend National Park. OK park, but they put us near the sewer pump with the noise attendant to it all the time. It wasn't too bad. Beautiful National Park and we hit it right with all the wildflowers blooming beautifully. Definitely want to visit here again. Did a lot of photography here. | ||
Uvalde,TX | 3/24/05-3/25/05 | Live Oak Lake RV Park | Small little park in a farm setting (goats and Sheep) with man-made fishing lake. Just for the night $20. | |
Rockport, TX | 3/25/05-4/08/05 | Bay View RV Park | Nice Western Horizon Club with lake with sea birds and alligators among Coast Oaks. Great place to stay and do a little sightseeing along the Gulf Coast and to work (ugh!). | |
Houston, TX | 4/08/05-4/09/05 | South Main RV Park | Inner city park, near Houston Astrodome. Small sites, but it worked. Clean, gated. Visited our cousin, Martha. Had a nice visit. | |

Chattanooga, TN | 04/15/05-04/15/05 | Raccoon Mtn RV Park | RV Park outside of Chattanooga. Features the Crystal Cave on the premises. Older RV park. $22. | |

Gaffney, SC | 04/22/05-04/24/05 | Freightliner Custom Chassis RV Park | Got our M2 maintenance checkup at the Freightliner Factory. Stayed in their RV Lot (with 50 AMPS, no water, no sewer) for two nights. | |
Salisbury, NC | 04/24/05-06/04/05 | Bass Lake RV Park | Staying 6 weeks while we work at Western Horizon Club Resort (site #14). About 40 minutes from Charlotte, NC. Wooded area with small lake. $1 per night with our club membership. Great place to let the dog run free in the many trails in the forest back of the park (in non-hunting season). | |
London, England | 05/16/05-05/27/05 | Bayview Bed and Breakfast | My daughter and I spent 10 days in London while Donna stayed in Salisbury with Reggie. We saw several great shows. London is currently VERY expensive for Americans, with everything at least double the price you'd pay in the USA. Also visited a roomate from UCSD, Paul Komphner in Brussels. | |
Lenoir, NC | 06/04/05-06/11/05 | Green Mountain RV Resort | Nice place in the woods. No satellite access for internet due to trees. (site 26 would work, but not available). Using Verizon Wireless. No Web Cam. Rained a lot during out stay, but pleasant walks. | |
Vilas, NC | 06/11/05-06/18/05 | Vanderpool Mtn RV Park | Visiting our daughter. Nice small RV Park, great power, even at 30 AMPs. Cooler here in Boone than further down the mountain, so the humidity and heat is not so bad. | |
Gasburg, VA | 06/18/05-07/02/05 | The Club at Lake Gaston Resort | ROD Resort on North Carolina/Virginia border on Lake Gaston. The weather during our stay was warm, towards the end hot and very humid and uncomfortable. The resort is nice, restaurant is ok, and lots of water sports. We stayed in spot 6, one of only a few that have satellite view. | |
Quinby, VA | 07/02/05 - 07/05/05 | NACO Virginia Landing (ROD) | Nice isolated spot on Hogs Island Bay, on the Atlantic Ocean. Raining when we arrived. No sewer hookups (there are about 6 in the whole park). lots of wildlife a few feet from the RV. | |
Aberdeen, MD | 07/05/05-07/06/05 | Bar Harbor RV Park | Nice small park at the edge of a river. Small spaces, not great for Big Rigs and quite pricey ($40 - 5% cash discount). Visiting Donna's Uncle June in the hospital in Baltimore, MD. | |
Wurtsboro,NY | 07/06/05-07/07/05 | Catskill Mountain Ranch & Camping Club | Coast-to-Coast ($8) place enroute to New Hampshire. Site P7 gets us satellite internet. In the trees mainly here, nice place with lots of seasonal owners. In the Catskills, quite a pull up the mountain in second gear. | |
Epsom, NH | 07/07/05-07/12/05 | Epsom Valley Campground | In the trees, no sat. signal. Nice, small (not Big Rig friendly) park next to river. Visiting Donna's aunt, and my college roomate, James D. McElroy, plus attending SegFest. Met Steve Wozniak (of Apple Fame) and Dean Kamen at his house. Visited with a friend in Maine. | |
Nineveh, NY | 07/12/05-07/13/05 | Kellystone Park | Enroute. Satellite reception OK, low power here (#27), tripped breaker without a/c.Warm. Next to Golf Course. OK for big rigs,not exceptional. Pretty NY countryside, lots of trees in hills. | |
East Otto, NY | 07/13/05-07/27/05 | Allegany Mountain Resort | Great Western Horizon RV Park. Large and situated around a beautiful mountain lake. Power is marginal and not very many sewer hookups though. My aunt is visiting us from Pittsburg. We visited Niagra Falls on a beautiful and delightfully warm day. | |
Port Clinton, OH | 07/27/05-08/01/05 | Erie Islands Resort | Coast to Coast and ROD resort. Large place. We were stuck in C area, without sewer and only 30 amps. Nice new place. Marina and par 3 golf course. Good Satellite access everywhere. Wet due to big storm that had just passed through. Impersonal greeting. Security check-in was teenager with blah personality. Not any explanation of the amenities available even though they seem to be large. I hurt my back here and we stayed an extra day for rest. |

Grand Lake, CO | 08/08/05-08/11/05 | Winding River Resort | Staying here to see 3 musical plays at the Grand Lake Repertory Theatre. We really enjoy this park. It's a bit pricey for us, but the scenery and things to do are numerous. | |

Coast to coast and AOR members. 30 amps only. Site 27 is good. Visited Sun Valley and Anderson Ranch Reservoir gorge. | |
Burns, OR | 10/02/05-10/03/05 | Burns RV Park | Enroute to La Pine, OR. Clean RV Park along Highway 395. A bit pricey for this part of the country ($24). Full hookup and 50 Amps, cable. Lots of farms, about 4200 feet here. | |
La Pine, OR | 10/03/05-10/24/05 | Cascade Meadows RV Resort | In the Casade Mountains. ROD Park, site G44. Working and photographing the mountain sights. Spent a day photographing Crater Lake, about 80 miles from here. Also visted Newberry Volcanic Crater Monument, about 18 miles up the road. We also saw John Jorgenson in Bend Oregon. Great concert! | |
Shasta City, CA | 10/24/05-10/25/05 | Lake Siskiyou RV Resort | Enroute; Good Neighbor club. Charged us $2 plus tax for our dog!!! Nice place under trees with great view of Mt. Shasta from lake. Not great for Satellite TV or Internet. | |
