San Marcos, CA	03/04/07 - 03/05/07	Brothers home		Visiting my brother. Went to John Jorgenson quintet concert. Great!
Ramona, CA	03/05/07-03/17/07	Ramona Canyon RV Club		Visiting friends and family, working. See Google Earth location file. My high school band teacher, Dr. Bill Padelford visited me and we played music, a college friend John McCleary visited, we visited my High School sweetheart and my brother and donna's aunt. Plus I got some time at the San Diego Wild Animal park on my Segway with my camera.
Winterhaven,CA	03/17/07-03/24/07	Pilot Knob RV Resort		near Yuma, ROD park, really hot at the moment. Record day about 101F on Saturday.
Casa Grande, AZ	03/24/07 - 04/2/07	Casa Grande RV Resort		Western Horizon Resort. news that they will start charging $3 per night (energy charge) for all 40' RV's (in addition to our yearly fees). Bummer. Visiting Steve and Karen in Mesa. Working on our personal projects.
Deming, NM	04/02/07-04/03/08	El Rancho Lobo RV Park		Overnight stay. I photographed the Florida Mountains in the afternoon. The RV park is about 4 miles up a dirt road. OK when dry. Passport America. They charge for Electricity, even overnight. Our charge was $2.43 plus about $8.75 for the spot.
Fort Stockton, TX	04/03/07-04/04/07	Commanche Land RV Park		Overnight stay. Simple, clean and flat. Power was minimal but OK. Visiting with Donna's sister who was driving East from Florida to California and we were able to visit with he as we both met along highway I10. Nice Mexican Restaurant, Bienvenito in town.
Eagle Pass, TX	04/04/07-04/05/07	Picnic Area next to SR 277		Drove all day and couldn't find a place to stay in Eagle Pass, TX. Drove a few miles outside and found picnic area. Semi-Truck pulled up at midnight next to us with engine going all night! At least it was free. Beautiful wildflowers driving along Texas 90. My impression of this area (before Del Rio) is a 'sea of sagebrush and cactus'. Hundreds of miles of it.
Mission, TX	04/05/07-04/09/07	Mission West RV Park		Nice large RV Park (mainly for snowbirds). Closing down April 15th. Here for Birding. Lots of people in this corridor between Mexico and USA along the Rio Grande. I spent a day photographing birds in the Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State park. See some of the photos here. The most exciting was the Golden fronted Woodpecker and the Green Jay.
Rockport, TX	04/09/07-04/23/07	Bay View RV Resort		One of our Western Horizon Resorts in southern Texas. Big place, a couple blocks from the Gulf of Mexico. A good place to do bird photography. Got my first pics of a Painted Bunting and an Indigo Bunting here, plus Cardinale.
Houston, TX	04/23/07-04/24/07	South Main RV Park		Staying overnight near downtown to visit two first cousins and my Dad's only surviving sister. Clean RV park, near medical center and basketball stadium.
Alexandria, LA	04/24/07-04/25/07	Cousin's Home		Staying overnight here visiting Don and Judy (Newt's first cousin Don) in their beautiful home. They have plenty of room in their front yard. Hot and humid though.
Meridian, MS	04/25/07-04/26/07	Walmart Parking Lot		Big storm came through the area while we dry camped at WalMart.
Greensboro,GA	04/26/07-05/1/07	North Shores Resort		Nice large resort next to Lake Oconee.
Gaffney, SC	05/01/07-05/03/07	Freightliner Custom Chassis Service Center		Having our M3 maintenance service for our Alfa motorhome (plus valves adjusted). Big area for RVs to plug in (no water or sewer at RV site, but nearby)
Lenior, NC	05/03/07-05/17/07	Green Mountain Park Resort		Beautiful RV Park (Coast-to-Coast system) in the trees. We are visiting our daughter and attending her College graduation (hurray!). Probably have one of the only spots in the park with Sky access for our internet antenna (Site 100 for 89W).
Taylorsville,NC	05/17/07-05/18/07	Foothill RV Repair		Work done on RV. A Leveler, thermostat, ice-maker valve, etc. Stayed overnight in their parking lot. Really nice owner, does good work. (828) 635-0060
Williamsburg,KY	05/18/07-05/19/07	WalMart Parking Lot		Saving money. Overnight at WalMart Supercenter. Nice area.
Batesville,IN	05/19/07-05/21/07	Indian Lakes Resort		ROD (Thousand Trails) camp. Nice and big, only 44 full-hookups in section IV. We got one (#20).
Monticello,IN	05/21/07-05/23/07	White Oaks RV Resort		Western Horizon Resort for two nights. Next to river and lake. Not many full-hookups or 50Amp sites. We got one with 30Amps and full hookup.
Naperville,IL	05/23/07-05/24/07	City Street of Cousin Liz		Visited my First cousin Liz and her husband Steve whom I haven't seen for 17 years. Really nice visit, but so short.
Spring Grove,MN	05/24/07-05/25/07	Hidden Bluff Resort		Southern MN. ROD. Lovely grass trails, creek, and nice RV Park. Our anniversary. Drove through downpours to get here.
Sioux Falls,SD	05/25/07-05/26/07	Walmart Parking Lot		Getting our DL renewed, pickup our mail from our forwarding service, Alternative Resources (just a block away), and shopping at Sam's Club and Walmart, then collapsing!
Rapid City, SD	05/26/07-05/31/07	Rushmore Shadows Resort		Resting for 4 days, maybe some photography. Had a big storm come through. Didn't get out for photography due to weather.
Billings,MT	05/31/07-06/01/07	Walmart Parking Lot		Shopping and resting overnight. Supercenter.
Island Park, ID	06/1/07-09/28/07	RedRock RV Park		One of our favorite places to stay. Beautiful views, quiet pastures, close to Yellowstone and Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.
Wells, NV	09/28/07-10/02/07	Crossroads RV Park		One of the worst Coast-to-Coast RV Parks I've seen. Spaces have barely enough room for slides (my neighbor had to bring his rear slide in for me to get in). Power is 30 AMP and poor. Neighborhood is depressing. Loud trains across the street. One of the hazards of RVing.
Reno, NV	10/02/07-10/03/07	outside friends home		Visiting my friend Bill Ragsdale. Nice location next to large refuge in outskirts of Reno. Boondocked.
Nevada City, CA	10/03/07-10/17/07	Harmony Ridge Resort		ROD Resort in the trees, lots of them. Clean and well cared for. No internet signal due to trees (150 feet or more) tall all around. Wi-fi, but weak where we were. Quiet at this time of year, but too dark under the trees for me. Not extremely big-rig friendly there, as it's built on a hillside in the trees, but we did fit. Visited the north end of Lake Tahoe (so built-up for such a beautiful once remote area...) Nevada City is nearby, very historic and picturesque.
Isleton, CA	10/17/07-11/7/07	Delta Shores RV & Marina		ROD Resort in the Sacramento Delta. Ground is soft here, you need some heavy boards! Not great in really wet weather. We were lucky, no rain for the 3 weeks we stayed here. We used this as a base to visit our new Granddaughter in Novato, CA almost 65 miles from here. We visited her 3 times, and I went into San Francisco via Bart to see my son at his job (Lucasarts).
Isleton, CA	11/07/07 - 11/15/07	Lighthouse RV & Marina		ROD Resort in the Sacramento Delta. They charge $2 for 30 amps plus $2 for dog. First extra charges we've encountered from an ROD club. Nice enough place with restaurant on the canal.
Felton,CA	11/15/07-11/26/07	River Grove RV		Nice location under giant Redwood trees next to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Though bad experience due to very poor power in the park. I thought our own power system was messed up but turned out their overloaded system couldn't keep even 100 V for us. Very uncomfortable several days starting Thanksgiving Eve. We visited with Doug Wenger, Steve Jay, Steve Banks, Jerry and Tary McConnell, Lori and Brian and Damon, Nicole and Chloe during our stay. Got some good surfing pics too in Santa Cruz! Coast to Coast Deluxe Park.
Monterey, CA	11/26/07-11/27/07	Monterey Pines RV Park		Stayed in Navy RV Park as guest of Tary and Jerry to attend a funeral service for a friend, Leo Clark, a pioneer in Navy Weather Forecasting. Dinner with Doug again.
Elizabeth Lake, CA	11/27/07-11/28/07	Lake Elizabeth Golf & Ranch Club		Overnight at new Coast to Coast. Nice place in high desert, still a bit under construction. Open spaces (no trees), pond, and associated with Golf Course (closed when we were there.)
Banning, CA	11/28/07 - 12/26/07	Silent Valley RV Park		Our normal winter home in the San Jacinto Mountains above Banning. Pretty quiet here during the winter.
Ramona, CA	12/26/07-010/9/08	Ramona Canyon RV Resort		Visiting relatives in San Diego area. This RV Park was partially burned in the Oct 07 fires. All around the park looks like a battle zone, but the park itself was pretty much saved with most trees intact.
